Introduction and Installation
-----------------------------
This scenery package is intende to correct the Marmara region geography which was configured wrong in FS and adds a more realistic look to the city of Istanbul and its surroundings. The package adds Istanbul's Prince Islands and Imrali Island, corrects lakes and rivers locations adds Darlik Dam and some lakes which are not present in FS, some unwanted shore lines and bridge ways in Bosphorus and all the mesh is corrected in order to match the real world elevations all that are not present in FS. Also some important buildings and architectures in the city of Istanbul have been modelled. The package includes Hezarfen and Samandira airfields too.
marmara.zip contains cografya folder, istanbul folder and 4 bgl files with numbers (HL955170.bgl, HP955170.bgl, RD955170.bgl, ST955170.bgl).
1.cografya (geography) folder includes the geographic data of marmara. There is only scenery folder below this folder. Copy this golder to Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery.
2. istanbul folder includes 3d models. There are scenery and texture folders below this folder. Copy this folder to Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery.
In FS9 main menu go to settings and then scenery library then add area and add these 2 folders and when you restart FS the sceneries will become active.
3.HL955170.bgl, HP955170.bgl, RD955170.bgl and ST955170.bgl replaces the default FS9 geography data. Place these 4 files to Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\asia\scenery folder. You will need to overwrite the original files so before copying these files backup your original files somewhere outside your FS9 folder in case you need them.

Important Information
---------------------
-This scenery package works only in Fs2004, do not use it with Fs2002.
-The landclass file in the package brings Istanbul a more realistic landscape and a more crowded residential area. The structures which are mostly autogen can normally bring a lower frame rate in a low end system. So if you witness a low frame rate during your flights reduce your autogen density settings.
-The package contains Istanbul's 2 general aviation airfields hezarfen(ltbw) and samandira(ltbx) .Hezarfen does not have night lightning because it is closed at nights in real life.
-Projects surrounding area can be seen in kapsama.jpg and kapidag.jpg within the zipped file.
-In order to get more efficiency from this project you need to have installed the high resolution SRTM mesh data. You may find these files on avsim.com : Yohann Baptiste's turkey_west_srtm.zip file,Abdulkadir Ozturk's tk_mesh_part_1.zip and Kenan Kilictepe's AMesh1.bgl file from the VFR Turkey package.
-Deactivate the previous islands project of mine (ada.zip) if you have it, do not use that anymore, there is no more need for that.
-Great Istanbul Scenery and VFR Turkey scenery packages by Umur Turelli and Kenan Kilictepe are not compatible with this project because they use the default FS geography data, deactivate those sceneries and do not use them along with this package.Only as I mentioned above if you have Kenan Kilictepe's VFR Turkey package only keep the AMesh1.bgl, AMesh2.bgl, AMesh3.bgl, AMesh4.bgl and AMesh5.bgl files in the scenery folder. These 5 files are Turkey land height files and the rest of his files can cause conflicts with this package and so they may not be used together.
-The recommended ground textures are fs9 texture set by Lennart Arvidsonn. In my opinion these textures simulate Istanbul's ground view very realistically. If you use this set placing the 038B2an5.agn file in the Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\World\texture folder will avoid an autogen tree error. If you are not using Lennart Arvidsonn's set then do not use the 038B2an5.agn file.
-This projects will have some additions in time. The correction of some textures blurring as distance increases, addition of night textures, addition of new models and corrections of possible errors will take time.
-If you only use jet planes to fly IFR you may not need to use this scenery package.
-I hereby thank Salim Unuver for his big support and valuable ideas and work during the test of this project.
-Many thanks to scenery developers Holger Sandmann, Christian Fumey (Ground2K4) and Jim Keir (Slartibartfast and LWMViewer) for their ideas and tools that enabled more precise geography editing....
Thank you...
