After dispatch (thrust levers advanced for takeoff), it is not
required to check status messages because any message
concerning the safe continuation of the flight will appear as an
EICAS alert message (warning, caution or advisory). On some
757s, however, the only indication of impending fuel filter
bypass will be a status message, so look at them anyway.
During engine start and prior to takeoff, any alert message
requires the appropriate non-normal procedure followed by
checking the MEL. The MEL must be checked prior to
takeoff.
Check status messages after shutdown and record in the
